Places to eat at Cape San Blas and Port St. Joe during your vacation -2

If you have not been to Cabo San Blas before, you will notice that there are not as many restaurants as there are in more developed beach holidays, such as Panama City. Those of us who are residents or frequent visitors to the cape actually think that this is good, but it makes the choice of restaurants more difficult for beginners. In addition, if you were not on the Cape for a while, there have been some changes. I hope this information will help when you plan your escape at the cape!

ON THE CAPE:

1. Cones, 8080 Cape San Blas Road, 850-229-5252. In the immediate vicinity of the entrance to the State Park, the Coneheads have indoor and outdoor seating, and the last time I was there, you could bring your dog to the outdoor seating areas. At the moment they open from 8 to 8 and close on Sundays. I confirmed that they are planning to have breakfast, lunch and dinner this summer. The menu includes salads, sandwiches, pizza and ice cream. They have good hamburgers, groupers sandwiches and fries. It is better to call ahead and be sure that they open before you go to lunch.

2. Scalip Cove BP, 4310 Cape San Blas Road, 850-227-1573. An unlicensed participant in the restaurant’s article, BP actually has many options for a quick meal without leaving the Cape. You'll find everything from breakfast sandwiches to hamburgers, hot dogs, chili and gumbo. Jill just added pizza to her menu, and the oven turned off at 8 pm. You can also grab things to make your own quick lunch with wine, cheese and crackers or something else light. BP works seven days a week until 10 pm. and their watches are reliable.

3. Cape Trade Post, 4975 Cape San Blas Road, 850-229-8775. The hotel has pizza, hot dogs, pizza, soups, extreme ice and more. The clock is changing, so call ahead.

4. Shaved ice from salty beaches, next to Merchant Post. 850-229-6611 Not a restaurant, but a pleasant treat on a hot summer day. They offer 70 different flavors.

5. Grill-grill, CLOSED AS THIS ARTICLE. No word on when it will open again.

6. Indian Pass Raw Bar, 8391 Indian Pass Road, 850-227-1670. Raw Bar is a cape and we love it. Closed Monday. Open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 12:00 to 21:00, from Sunday from 13:00 to 21:00. Popular with locals and tourists. Great oysters, crab legs and shrimp. Casual atmosphere and lots of fun.

PORT ST JOE OR ON THE WAY:

7. Country Club St. Josephs Bay, 700 Country Club Road, 850-227-1757. Open 7 days a week, from 8:00 to 18:30. Full menu until 3pm, and then a snack bar, drink and bar just before closing. It offers a breakfast menu, a variety of sandwiches and baskets and a bar for hot dogs. Also kids menu.

8. Gracie O. Mally Pub and Katery, Simmons Bayou, 850-229-1779. Just checked that their summer hours will be from 17:00 to 22:00 seven days a week.

9. Sunset Coastal Grill, 602 Monument Avenue, 850-227-7900. Open 7 days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day (otherwise closed on Mondays). Lunch from 11:00 to 15:00, dinner from 17:00 to 22:00. Patti Blaylock, the owner, my dear friend, so I revealed my problem with a conflict of interest. But the truth is that we always ate in the Grill as long as we go to Cape, even before we meet Patty. A varied menu with many options and a menu for children. Great panini, salads and other sandwiches at lunch. Steaks, seafood and pasta for dinner. The view of the bay is impressive and even better when we get a good sunset!

10. Sea Blue Iguana, 108 E. 1st Street, 850-229-5455. Opening hours: from 5:30 to 21:00. Raw and Steam Bar, breakfast and lunch. This is a relatively new restaurant. I haven't eaten there yet, so I can't give any feedback. If you go let me know what you think!

11. Sisters, 236 Raid Avenue, 850-229-7121, family-style "meat and 3" type of restaurant. I could not confirm the summer days and hours, so just call and find out before you go.

12. Meals and 3rd Street Grill, 301 Williams Avenue, 850-229-9200. Lunch, from 11 to 3 from Monday to Friday. Lunch, from 6 to 9:30, Monday through Friday. Tapas every Thursday at dusk. Great menu with lots of variety. Jodie is a very popular catering provider. If you come to the cape for a special event and need its services, be sure and call her.

12. Cafe for bedside tours and crude bar, 342 Marina Drive, 850-229-5200 Opening hours: from 11:00 to 21:00 from Monday to Thursday. Friday from 11 to 10, Saturday from 10 to 10, Sunday from 10 to 9. 13. Peppers Mexican Restaurant, 224 Reid Avenue, 850-229-8540, Open 7 days a week, 11-10, except Sundays, 11 to 9. Excellent service, margaritas and food. We go to Peppers every time we are on the Cape. Reasonable price and relaxed atmosphere.

14. Paul Gant barbecue, 470 watts. Highway 90, 850-227-9311. Not a restaurant, but the establishment of Port St. Joe. Incredible barbecue. Open from 10:00 to 20:00 only on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Right in front of a big bridge heading towards Mexico City Beach. Take the ribs, chicken or Boston butt, as well as all fixes and side pieces. It's amazing!

15. Chinese restaurant Great Wall, 412 Reid Avenue, 850-227-9999. From Sunday to Friday, from 10:30 to 22:00. Saturday, from 3:30 to 22:00. Chinese fare is available 7 days a week. They have a buffet, a regular menu and, of course, check out!

16. Cafe "No Name" in the books of palm trees, 306 Raid Avenue, 850-229-9277. The No Name Hotel serves a continental breakfast and a light lunch menu in a coffee atmosphere. Free wi-fi! Hours are from Monday to Friday, from 7:30 to 18:00 and from Saturday from 10 to 17 hours.

17. Joe Mama - The Nut Brewery, 406 Reed Avenue, 850-229-6262. Open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11:30 to 2:30 for lunch and from 5:00 to 10:00 for dinner. Closed on Mondays. Joe Mama is the newest restaurant in Port St. Louis. Joe, opening the door around Easter. We have not been there yet, but next time I will return to the list of stops, and the views that I heard are great. Here you will find forest pizza, sandwiches, salads and desserts. Beer and wine are available. Everything is done according to promises.

We also have several fast food restaurants:

Burger King, 601 Highway 98, 850-229-7060

All of these restaurants are also listed on my Cape San Blas Local Information website with hyperlinks if they are available. There are many more offers in Mexico City Beach and Apalachicola, but I will save them for other articles!
