Why do you need an approved installation?
He avoids
- Poor refrigerator performance
- Cold precipitation entering the living space
- Rain through holes
- Chimney problems
RESULT:
- The refrigerator should stand on its feet (including the lower hinges) and securely fastened in a sturdy casing.
- Removal for ministry should be easy.
- Provide a minimum of 10-20 mm per fridge.
- The door of the refrigerator must be free to open at least 105 ° without obstruction so that internal fittings can be removed.
VENTILATION - BASIS FOR GOOD REFRIGERATORS
- For the refrigerator to work properly, each issue must have a free effective area of at least 240 cm². For models with a capacity of more than 60 liters, the free effective area must be at least 300 cm². The Dometic (formerly Electrolux) LS100, LS200, more than ideally meets this requirement. Position the top opening relative to the back of the refrigerator so that the top edge of the air vent is at least 55 mm above the top of the refrigerator.
- Dometic (formerly Electrolux) recommends using its LS100 LS200 ventilation system, as this is the only system tested with their range of Caravan / Camper van refrigerators. With other systems, water can penetrate through the vents and saturate the area behind the refrigerator.
- A 13 cm² vent should be provided in the refrigerator (not on the burner) so that unburned LP-gas can be avoided. If it is located in a cabinet, use a refrigerator, then a label should be affixed warning the user not to interfere with the fan.
- The cooling unit must be isolated from the Caravan or Camper van at the back of the refrigerator to ensure optimum performance and to prevent cold drafts from entering the living space. Failure to comply with this criterion will allow warm air to gather around the refrigerator, after which heat enters the refrigerator through insulation, and performance will suffer.
- The Caravan / Camper van door (if it is fully open) should not interfere with the ventilation openings of the cooling device or the exhaust outlet for the chimney, otherwise the performance of the refrigerator may suffer, especially at high ambient temperatures, and flue gases may slow down. The average distance between the vents and the door must be greater than 25 mm.
Fluid:
- Only an approved Dometic chimney kit (formerly Electrolux) should be used.
- The top of the chimney must be secured with the screw provided to avoid the risk of restriction.
- Allow a 5 mm gap between the chimney and combustible material in the wall of the Caravan / Camper van to avoid fire hazards.
- Ensure a minimum 10 mm gap between the end of the chimney and the chimney to avoid distortion of the chimney cap.
- Install a perforated smoke cap to prevent dirt and moisture from entering and prevent accidental ejection of the flame.
- Make sure that the gap between the chimney cover and the inner surface of the chimney is always greater than 5 mm to avoid the risk of restriction.
- On a non-integrated chimney system, sealant should only be applied between the outer chimney cap and the chimney flange plate only at the top and side. It should not be applied over the flange plate of the chimney.
CONNECTING LASER GAS
- The supply pipe must be copper to avoid gas leaks and must be connected to the inlet pipe of the refrigerator using a suitable threaded coupling.
- The approved gas connecting tap must be connected to the supply line at a point accessible to the user in order to allow the refrigerator to be separated.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Make sure the cables do not touch the chimney or hot parts of the cooling unit.
240 VOLTA CONSUMPTION
- Must be either through a 3 ampere fusible and properly grounded connector, or through a 5 amp contact switch.
12-Volt Delivery
- To avoid voltage drops, the cross-sectional area of the connecting cable between the battery / alternator and refrigerator should be at least:
- 2.0mm². Maximum mileage 8.0 m
- 2.5 mm². Maximum mileage 10.5 meters
- 4.0mm². Maximum mileage 17.0 m
- The positive wire must have a 15 amp fuse to protect the cable in the event of a fault.
12 VOLTAGE STRESSES FOR MOVING
- Observe the correct polarity.
- The cross-sectional area of the power cable must be at least 0.5 mm².
- A 1.0 amp fuse must be plugged into the supply wire next to the battery to protect the wiring.
Usage advice - The cold air in the refrigerator is heavier than the surrounding air and falls when you open the door. Therefore, do not leave the door open more than you need.
