6 Instructions you must follow when preparing for laser hair removal -2

Are you also tired of trimming, brushing or waxing unwanted body hair every week and planning under laser hair removal? Wait! The effectiveness of laser hair removal depends on how well you prepare for the treatment. The experience of your doctor undoubtedly plays a key role in determining the effectiveness of treatment, but before and after treatment, care is equally important.

Here is a list of instructions before the procedure that will help you prepare well for laser hair removal and get the most out of each session.

1. Stop tanning at least one month before treatment:

Lasers work best on light skin. The ideal candidate for laser hair removal is one who has fair skin tone and dark hair. So, if you are on fire in the sun or have used tan tanners to get this attractive brown skin tone, stop doing it at least 4-6 weeks before laser hair removal. When you go during the daytime, apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher on the hair that you want to treat.

2. Refrain from waxing, threading and brushing for at least 4-6 weeks before treatment:

The laser works, focusing on the root of the hair that you want to remove. But plucking, waxing and cutting threads remove hair from their roots, and it takes 2 to 4 weeks, at least to recover from the hair follicle. This will reduce the effectiveness of laser hair removal. Take care of your hair to maintain your personal hygiene, but stop removing hair from the root at least 4-6 weeks before the start of treatment. In addition, do not bleach hair, as the laser does not work well on bleached or gray hair.

3. Shave the area 24 hours before the appointment:

Shave areas that need to be rented 24-48 hours before an appointment, or as directed by your doctor during the pre-procedure. Cropped hair is also well suited for treatment, but long hair makes the treatment more painful, because it burns on the surface of the skin, absorbing thermal energy from laser beams, and some of the thermal energy is also transmitted to the skin.

4. Keep your skin free from cosmetics, lotions or creams:

During treatment, your skin should not contain any cosmetics or moisturizers and lotions. You can always clean the area at the treatment site. If you have applied any antiperspirant, remove it before starting treatment.

5. Wear loose clothing on the day of treatment:

On the day of treatment, come to the clinic in loose clothing that leaves the treatment area open or can be easily removed to reveal the area of treatment. Remember, the same rule applies for prior consultation; otherwise, your doctor will not be able to properly evaluate your hair and the treatment area.

6. Share your pain threshold with a doctor before the procedure:

Laser hair removal is usually done without anesthesia. A large amount of cooling gel is applied to the treatment area, and a part of the arm is moved along the skin in order to transmit the laser beams. But if you are too painfully susceptible, discuss with your doctor and he may prefer to numb the cream on your skin. The blistering cream should work for at least 30-40 minutes, so your doctor should know your pain threshold in order to plan things properly.
