Creative variations on traditional tiled floors for thousands of years -2

Choosing unique floors can transform a room. With their interest in reinventing classic styles and challenging conventions, the millennia are especially open to creative choices in home decor.

Hexagon tiled floors
Available in various sizes, hexagonal pieces have been a popular option for decades. Not being as coldly efficient as uniform rows of squares, hexagons easily fill any space with a simple pattern. Due to their uniform fit, there is less risk of relying on areas of casting or other filler. However, a DIY homeowner will have to cut off pieces to fit along walls and fixtures precisely.

For a fun alternative with traditional hexagons, consider creating one or two parts of a room to recreate your favorite board game. Some of the most popular board games (Settlers of Catan, Memoir 44, D & D, etc.) Use this form with either a hex grid on paper or hexagonal pieces of cardboard in a box. What if the individual hexagons across the bathroom or kitchen were all the colors and patterns associated with the Katana settlers? The stretched games "The Settlers" could make unforgettable parties. Smaller hexagons would be useful for D & D or other games with fewer actions in and around individual spaces.

Penny Literary Rounds
Penny-Cartridges is a classic view of tiled floors, where tiny round pieces cover the available space. The pattern and effect may be similar to the pattern of hexagons, but since the circles are not blocked, the choice leads to a large number of open solution. An elevated surface (with a recessed or flattened solution) can make the solution less distracting.

For thousands of years old people and others who want to worry about Pinterest, literal pennies (or other coins of uniform size) can be used for the same purpose. Given the limited surface area (and non-negotiable market value) of a single penny, this project can become expensive for those who want to cover a large surface. However, if you don’t squamish about material that costs about three dollars a square foot, pennies will impress the guests.

The mosaic has disappeared
Mosaics have been around for millennia, and thousands of homeowners rarely welcome retro shots and ironic choices. Ordinary square tile floors, for example, could play delightfully with the addition of a few numbers from Nintendo or classic 8-bit arcade games. For inspiration, check out the work of a French city artist known as Invader.

Mosaics for artists with a large artistic inclination are also an underused opportunity for artwork. Why spend hours cementing a boring and uniform pattern into the room you enter every day? For inspiration for decades, many well-preserved Roman mosaics and murals were discovered. For a historical allusion, which will undoubtedly decorate houses, think about recreating one of the Mongolian mosaics of Pompeii, which depict the special services of different inhabitants.

Instead of sticking with the same old styles on tile floors, taking advantage of the opportunity for creativity can make the whole house more exciting. Of course, a bathroom inspired by Pompeii may not please all potential buyers, so people who are likely to sell their homes should be careful.
