Teaching your dog through positive learning
I think positive dog training is the best approach for you and your puppy. There is no need to fool your dog or use negative training, you will see results faster and with less stress by choosing a positive approach to training.
There are various types of positive learning methods. I prefer the clicker training, I think the best one is to just click and reward. This is a very simple system, quite simple for children.
With clicker training, you simply click and treat with any positive behavior that you visualize. Positive training includes everything you see, that your dog does what you like. With a puppy, it's easy to distract them to what you would like. With an adult dog it takes a little more effort.
If the puppy is delivered, reward him. If you train him to sit on a dog bed and he just touches him, reward him. If he sits on it, waste it with fears. When you train your dog using positive training methods, this is an exciting adventure for both of you.
It doesn't matter if we are working on something, and the dog is doing something else, we click and heal for this positive behavior. Basically, we reinforce positive behavior and ignore negative behavior.
How it works:
1. When you bring your puppy home, simply place him in a restricted area, and when you see him go to his box or bed, click and reward him with treatment.
2. Continue this each time he goes to his chambers.
3. When he really touches his bed, press and give him 2 or 3 trips.
4. If your puppy is lying on his bed or in a box, click and give him 4 or 5 trips.
5. You will notice how your puppy returns to the bed and looks to see if you are going to reward him.
In essence, what you do teaches him that when he does what you want him to do, he will be rewarded, when you no longer need to click and heal, your puppy will just know and you will go behavior.
It is imperative that you immediately click on the behavior, or your dog will be confused. If you work on the seat, and your dogs are spinning, just touch the floor, immediately press and heal! If you hit when he starts to get up, you have been waiting.
As your dog gets it, start reducing the number of rides and, ultimately, loosen them completely. Instead of giving 4 or 5 treasures for something perfect, just give 2 or 3, and then reduce the amount again. Soon your puppy will just know that you are expecting something.
Do not try to use words to teach your dog at the beginning. Just let the clicker be your words. Sometimes, when your dog has properly finished what you are working on for 50 to 100 times, you can start using your chosen word.
Here are a few words that we use that can help you learn. No one wants to talk. Go to your box, make it more exciting for everyone. Instead of talking, go to your box, try to go to your house. Instead of using a coarse voice, use a positive optimistic voice.
Work for a maximum of 10 minutes with your dog, it is best to work on this behavior several times a day. A puppy has a short attention span. If you keep your exercises short, you will be less inclined to lose his attention. Just set a timer to find out how long you have been working on clicker training.
Happy learning!
