Game process
In Prison Architect, you are the prison warder, and your task is to create your own prison! You will create cells, souls, canteens, kitchens and everything you need to create a prison, no matter how you wish! You will start by choosing the size in which you want to start your prison (small, medium, large) and your options, such as fog of war, continuous consumption, etc. After you are fine with your choices, the game will start and will fall 8 and you can start designing your prison from there.
The gameplay reminds me of the Bullfrog Hospital, where you build buildings by pressing and dragging size, allowing workers to build it, placing doors and windows where you like, and setting the interior after it is completed. You will need buildings to create your retention cells, power stations and water stations, as well as building electrical and water lines to meet your prison needs. You will need to create offices for your administration, such as wardens, security chiefs, psychologists, accountants, etc., as well as your prison needs, such as feeding, shaving, cleaning, and more.
To begin with, you will not have a lot of money, so you will need to get grants that you will give you a cash advance, and get more cash to fulfill the goals inside, such as a grant for basic content needs (laying the foundations for your base ) and give you an idea of what to do next if you are new to the game.
Employees
You can hire staff to help you in prison or use them for administrative purposes. Ginter, gardeners, guards, armed guards, dog breeders and more can be hired to help you in your prison, and administration staff can explore new rooms and bonuses for your prison, using the bureaucracy tab with an office for everyone.
Security guards can be placed in rooms or installed on patrols using the deployment tab (search first). You can set the security routes where you need them, and they will follow the path to fatigue and rest in the cabinets.
Prisoners
Prisoners come from 3 flavors from the current assembly. Prisoners with gray suits are the minimum security, orange suits are medium security, and the red suits are the maximum security. Obviously, inmates in red and orange suits are more dangerous, and will love to try to escape, steal weapons, steal and abuse drugs and alcohol, fight, kill, etc. In Alpha 21, you can set up different schedules for each prisoner security class. You can set a schedule for each class of prisoners for each day, and you can determine whether they stick to their cells, eat, work, rain, walk into the yard, etc.
Prisoners can also work in your prison, and with the current assembly you can prepare them, remove the prison, go to reform courses, have dinner in the laundries, and use the workshop to create excellent beds, wooden boards and license plates. Some jobs, such as working in the kitchen and workshop, require them to complete the necessary training sessions before they are allowed to work in the specified projects.
The program's reforms allow your prisoners to master the skills of working in prison, as well as basic education or courses on drug addiction reform to combat drug addiction (alcohol and drugs now). These classes will cost you money when they are launched, and are allowed only during the work stages of the day you set. Some take 2 hours and some take 3-hour multi-attendance classes to complete or skip class.
Situations
Sometimes, depending on the needs of the prisoners (depending on whether they are satisfied or not), they will start fighting, trying to escape through the toilets in the cages, start unrest, start fires, try to kill others or overdose drugs. You, the guards, will respond to the incidents, and if the situation becomes too big, you can put the prison in a lock, close the doors and isolate the problem areas until you can overcome it.
You have access to emergency tabs or problem solving, such as blocking, shuffling (searching the entire prison for smuggling) or calling emergency services (riot police, paramedic and firemen). If the guards discover that prisoners cause abusive behavior, they arrest the prisoner and send the prisoner into blocking or legal custody mode (you set the rules for punishment yourself). The punished prisoners will be crushed, which will force them to lower their heads and become more obedient to the rule of the prison. You can even punish the prison yourself by clicking on them and assigning a punishment if you want to punish them further.
In addition, in medical and morgue rooms, you can hire medical staff to heal staff and prisoners, as well as help cure drug abuse (using the right program).
With alcohol and drug abuse in the game (Alpha 21), if prisoners are not in a state of detoxification or stopped, they can overdose and die if they steal drugs and use them. You can use new programs to install offers to try to clean them of their dependencies.
Other
When you finish your prison and have no recent accidents, such as death or escape, you can sell your prison shares and completely sell the prison and make a completely new prison for the cash that you have collected! This will give you more opportunities and you will create a more complex prison in the future. You can still play in your prison, but you can sell it only once! You can also set prisoner food rations using a policy tab, such as more or less variety of foods that will affect their mood.
Is it worth 30 dollars?
In my opinion, even in Alpha, the game is playable and fun, but it does not cost 30 or more dollars in its current state. I would say that 10 or 15 dollars is more reasonable, since it is in Alpha and not where it’s made or complete. There is also support for playing on pairs and the Steam Workshop option to add more time to play. This is a great game even in Alpha, and I look forward to the fact that Introversion will add in future releases of the game!
