What is the difference between a local network and a global network? -2

If you have an Internet connection at home or in the office or regularly read newspapers or follow the latest technology trends, you can often come across links on the net. Computer networks were associated with industry and government just a couple of decades ago. Currently there is often a network at home. Both local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) are used to provide networks for computer users.

A typical use of a local network is to simultaneously connect to the Internet for all users in a house with one connection to the Internet. All devices available on the Internet that are available on the Internet can be configured as nodes on a local network and can be connected to the Internet using a computer designed for this purpose. LANs can also be used to connect workstations in an office environment in the same way to provide access to shared resources, such as printers.

The local network uses 10baseT twisted pair cables or a wireless network to connect computers to the network. For proprietary local network topologies, some solutions are available to connect to specific suppliers.

A WAN also consists of computer networks - the difference between a local network and a global network is purely one of the steps. A WAN can consist of thousands of local area networks connected to a network. A LAN can usually cover a building, while a global network can cover a wide geographic area, passing national or national borders. On a local network, the distance traveled is usually on the order of feet, unlike WAN, where distances are on the order of thousands of miles.

A WAN is implemented using dedicated lines provided by the service provider or using packet switching networks for data transmission over the network. One of the most famous examples of a WAN is the Internet.
