Gray spots on the carpet - around the edges of the roaster and baseboards -2

Stains on the carpet around the heat registers and exterior walls, as well as interior walls and stairs, are caused by air infiltration and filtration.

1. Houses with forced air ovens will have spots around the heat registers, as well as external walls. Stains on the carpet on the interior walls and stairwells are caused by the positive air being pushed under the exterior walls, and your carpet becomes a filter that collects all the impurities in the air as it passes under the wall (this is more like light colored carpets).

2 In some homes with forced air furnaces, the cover will have stains around the vents for the heat register caused by air moving around the register when the register is closed (keep in mind that the register grille is designed to prevent air flow from turning off or on). Also, stains found in areas of stairs or stairwells and interior walls indicate that a cold return to the furnace is a short cutting ability to produce a furnace blower, therefore pulling air under the walls and around the stair steps to a cold air duct running under the floor is a basement .

3 Electric, hot, radiant, or convective heated houses may have similar stains, but always on external walls. This is caused by leakage of air from the house (windows and doors, etc.). Fans of the hood range, bathroom fans suck the air out of the house and create air or penetrating air coming under the outer walls, thereby painting light floors.

How to recover:

Outside, interior walls and stairs

Remove the carpet from the carpet strip, smooth the strip and plug it with a joint to settle the sediment between the bottom plate of the wall and the underfloor (first make sure that the area is clean).

Thermal registers

Using adhesive tape, put a pin on top of a metal heat-absorbing shoe, under and under the plywood or on the sole, ending in a 1-inch carpet. THE NOTE: This should be done on light vinyl floors, as well as to stop staining. The duct tape must end on top of the vinyl to extend beyond the vent.

How to clean:

The residue remaining after infiltration and extraction of air can be cleaned with a product called Pink Solution. The pink solution is available at many retail stores in Canada.
Apply the pink solution directly to the painted area, before soaking. Knead with your fingertips until black foam appears. Apply again with the “Pink solution” solution and knead again. Blot with a white towel or absorbent cloth. Repeat as necessary. Dry with a hair dryer. THE NOTE: The pink solution can be used on many stains, such as wine, asphalt, mold, candle wax, permanent marker, grease, oil, etc.

It's simple!
