Sensitive teeth destroy your ice cream?
Sensitive teeth are one of the number one problems we see in our office. They can make people stop brushing their teeth in certain areas and avoid cold drinks and ice cream. Some clients tell my beautiful, sweet hygienist, Lenia, to avoid cleaning this tooth or part of the teeth. This makes them very sharp. She needs to do her job, and her teeth need a movie with plaques.
So what causes this? The teeth have 3 layers - enamel, dentin and nerve. Even in healthy mouths, gum recession can occur. No enamel under the gum. The surface of the root is open.
