Can your patio use additional screens? -2

Millions of Australians enjoy their patio. This is the perfect outdoor living space. You can hide from the sun in hot weather, but still spend time in the fresh air. In the spring and early autumn, the patio provides shelter from the rain, and if the roof of your patio is well insulated, it will feel good and warm.

Many Australian patios are open to the elements. In the Australian climate, this is not bad. Having a patio open on three sides, air can circulate, which cools things on a hot day. It also allows you to relax while still watching the children and pets craving in the backyard.

In some cases, however, screens can be helpful. Let me take a look at some of the reasons why you should add screens to your patio or carport.

Confidentiality

The main reason people approach screens on their patios is because they want privacy when they spend time outdoors. It's clear. Today’s urban areas are overpopulated, and modern homes are built on ever smaller areas. Regardless of how friendly our neighbors are, we don’t want to live in a goldfish bowl.

Color or aluminum screening will give you extra privacy when you spend time outside. You can read a book in silence, away from prying eyes.

Security

The screens provide additional security, which is especially useful if you have a carport. Adding screens and gates will prevent unwanted visitors entering your patio area or carport, and with a gas barbecue, tools, or even your car. If safety is a problem, invest in steel screens, as they are durable and resistant. Do not forget to add lockable gates too.

Holding people is one of the compelling reasons to fit the screens, do not underestimate the value of keeping children and pets inside! Screens will protect small children if you want to keep them in tight spaces. The same applies to pets.

Decoration

Decorative screens - a pleasant touch to the patio. Lattice screens let in light and allow circulation in the air, while ensuring a degree of confidentiality. They look especially attractive when used as a background for climbing plants and flowers. Put decorative screens on one or two sides. In any case, it will be a good investment.

Additional weather protection

Do you live in a coastal location? Are strong winds a problem? Or is your patio in the sun almost all day? Screens provide additional protection from weather conditions. Say, for example, the wind usually blows from the west. A screen on this side of your patio will make sitting outside on a windy day much more attractive. It will also prevent the formation of dust and debris throughout the patio. Use the screen to block the wind and protect your open kitchen on a harsh day. It is not fun to cook in a strong wind, especially if you live near the beach!
