This small beautiful town of Dillon Beach, located in the beautiful Marin County, California coast, so many interesting and interesting things. Hiking
At the top of the Oceana Drive bluff at the end of the street, you pass through the cattle gate. On the left is a magnificent view of Eagle Rock overlooking the Bodega Head and the magnificent Tomales Bay. You think you're in Scotland, but this is just over an hour’s drive from San Francisco! There are some traces of deer that you will see, follow them to the right and you will be taken to the fire road. Go left and you will come to Estero for about a mile. A lot of good sticks and stones along the way! Fun for kids of all ages. Dogs love this trekking!
Another large pedestrian area - Fri. Visitor Center Reyes National Coast. It is 45 minutes from Dillon Beach. There are fun trails - be sure to go to the earthquake, and then go to the village Miwok. You can drive along the Tomales Bay to an adventure to climb 300 steps down to the Lighthouse. Look at the disk to see the knight Thule, who runs free, and listen to the barking of sea lions along the coast.
Cities
If you go to the National Maritime Center, plan some time in Pt. Reyes is a cute little town with fun shopping. Be sure to visit the Toby feed store. For Toby, there is a park behind Toby. Bull bakery is well known and good! Locals keep their own coffee mugs on the wings of hte, so bring your own sensations to things. The next door is an excellent bookstore to explore.
However, the Tomales have the best bakery in the world. Open only Thursday-Sunday, you need to get there early before they sell out! William Tell has just been redone and not bad. Now you can sit outside for the treatment of oysters BBQ. The deli is great for sandwiches that you can go through the street to the park and allow children to play. Don't miss the hot lamb sandwich! In the opposite direction is the Native Plants Nursery, which is fun to explore.
Petaluma has a big old city center. Lovely shops, antiques and fine restaurants. It did not suffer much from the 1906 earthquake, as there were so many areas of the North Bay and San Francisco, so the buildings are among the oldest in our area. Known for the past chicken industry, it still holds “Days of Chicken and Eggs”, with fascinating farewell and family events in honor of the popular long-term rest.
Other interesting cities to explore are the small town of Bodega (and not Bodega Bay), where Alfred Hitchcock shot The Birds. In Sevastopol, there is an excellent city center, as well as many antique shops along the Gravenstein Highway. Healdsburg is a great place to visit, the city square is beautiful with shops and restaurants to explore.
San Francisco is a fun day. You can explore the Golden Gate Park with museums or the "Explorer" at the Palace of Fine Arts. Chinatown, Fisherman and Pier and Ghirardelli Square - all this is interesting to explore.
Wine tasting
So many to choose from! Although Napa is best known, and just 45 minutes away, locals prefer the area closer to Dillon Beach. Sonoma County Napa rivals are world-class wines. Go to the Alexander Valley, the Russian River Wine Route, or try several small wineries in Sevastopol.
Dillon beach
If you want to stay close to home, just try our beach! You can have a fire in the fireplace, and your dog can enjoy the beach too. In the northern part of the beach there are often excellent flows to explore. The dunes are so fun to run and climb down, but don't let the kids dig too deep, move the sand, and easily collapse the hole.
You can walk south along the beach to Lawson, a tent camp. There is a pier where you can fish or crab. Clamming is also popular. There is a fee for the landing ride.
