 Chesapeake Bay -2

Chesapeake Bay, which has more than two thousand miles of coastline, is the largest estuary in the world. Despite its size, it is basically a shower drop of water. There are deep spots (more than 90 feet deep), but there are many waterfalls where shallow-water anglers can enjoy world-class fishing.

Upper Bay includes water from Susquehanna Apartments to the Bay Bridge. The middle bay runs from the south bay bridge to the Khong River in the east and Solomons at the mouth of Patuxent in the west. Finally, the lower bay includes Chrisfield in the east and Point Lookout in the mouth of the Potomac in the west, including Tanger Sound, to the mouth of the bay. With recent colder temperatures, you might think that Fall is here. Is not. There will be many hot days in the bay, but the Fall is just around the corner and can be a very productive time on the rivers of the Chesapeake Bay.

Cooling waters stimulate an increase in feeding activity, which is why many anglers focus on breaking strip schools because they are visually and fairly productive. In early September, early morning morning wares and from mid-day to sunset is a regular school with striped bass. At this time we will catch a lot of 15-inch fish, but big fish are possible. Small glass minnows or anchovy coves are the predominant bait at this time, so small lures or flies work well, but lately we have been lucky with some Swimbaits and large salt water Rat-L-Traps.

Try crank baits such as the Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnow or a similar “slim minnow” floating diver. Small spoons, such as Hopkins Shorties, are always good. Soft plastics of all kinds are an excellent choice, but 1/4 oz head bass assassin is a favorite of many anglers who fish. When the blues mixes with the strip, fasten on a 4-inch wire. For the flycatcher, small white poppers are always good, and 2/0 Clouser Minnow or Deceiver with a lot of flash gets a good effect.

Some of the best autumn places to try on the west bank in the upper bay include the Abbey Point at the mouth of the Bush River. We have always found that the best here is the outgoing stream. Pulz Island, the mouth of the Gunpowder River, has many underwater structures and is rather shallow from the shore, so be careful. The area where the Seneca, Dundee and Gunpowder rivers connect is productive most of the year. On the east coast, try Worton Point at the mouth of Worton Creek. There is a lot of structure, including old blinds and piers. Fairlee Creek is a hot spot on the upper east coast. Bytefish is poured from the mouth onto the outgoing stream.

The bloody point and the mouth of the Chester River have a large tidal rip and another hole-type stain in the community that produces. Anglers catching the middle bay should try the Bay Bridge. The waters around the bridge that come north and east are almost always productive. On the west bank there are spots with tides, and they can all hold discontinuous striptease. Try Hackets Point, just below Bridge Bay, near the mouth of Whitehall Creek, and try Tolly Point at the mouth of the River Severn. In the southernmost middle of the bay, the Solomon region at the mouth of the Patuxent River is the top spot on the west bank.

To the south of Solomon is a series of targets used by the Navy, and a favorite place for players in the fall. Along the east coast of Kent Narrows is a narrow section connecting the Chester River with the East Bay. The coastline near the Bay of Warrose is usually the best place, but it is difficult to fish. The water against the coastline is much deeper than the water between it and the canal, and the possibility in the middle is an opportunity.

In the East Bay at the beginning of autumn striptease and sometimes blue fish were broken. Just eat and look at the seagulls, but if you can't find fish that feed on surface nutrition, don't worry. You can throw around points, humps and flushes for striptease and seating. Topol Island at the mouth of the East Bay has a lot of structure with good fish habitat, but spoiling dredging to restore the island to its original size may have had an adverse effect.

For many years, the island of Tilgman and the mouth of the Choptanq have been falling hot spots. Again, breaking fish offers the best opportunities, and points at the northern and southern ends of Choptank are usually the best areas. Further south, the northeast end of Taylors Island is loaded with timber and underwater stumps. Next is the river Khong. Hongi Estuary is a favorite place to strip all year round, but especially in the fall, both in the mouth and further upstream. Here the coastline has a lot of structure. The West Bank of the Lower Bay, from the Potomac River to the mouth of the bay, offers excellent fishing from mid to late autumn. This is a hot spot for striptease and blues, and in early autumn, Spanish mackerel should be numerous. As the season goes on, and these fish go away, they catch fish for striptease and blues, and the deep squeeze for sitting gets better.

Along the east coast from Chrisfield to the bridge of the Chesapeake Bay tunnel, not only is the strip-tease being torn, but in October and early November they offer good fishing. Most of the islands have underwater hemp in which there is a striped bass. Big Fox Island, south of Crisfield, has hemp along most of the western side and around the southern tip. Watts Island, south of Big Fox Island, offers a similar structure along its western side. Smith and Tangier Islands, in the middle of the bay, both have a large shoreline structure, consisting of clipped shores, shallow and underwater stems. In addition, there are channels on both islands, defined by rocky moorings at their entrances. We took a decent fish right against the rocks on both tides.

Winter is the worst time for fishing in Chesapeake. However, there are fish in several places, mainly along the western shore. On soft days, you can find strippers around power stations. In the upper bay, try the Carroll Island power station near the mouth of the Seneca River or, better still, Baltimore Harbor. We do not give preference to these areas, but in winter they are one of the few places that offer some kind of action in time.

Spring is what the annual pace of both the hickory and the white Shada begins in the Susquehanna River, at the top of the bay, and attracts anglers from around the world. Deer Creek and Okticaro Creek, two tribal streams a mile or so below Konovingo Dame, have good runs in nuts, while the main river has both nuts and a big white shade.

But the main event is the 6-week or 7-week trick and release season for striped bass in the Susquehanna apartments. Usually, starting from March 15 and ending in early May, this season increases your chances of catching a really big stripper on a bass guitar. However, heavy spring rains upstream in Pennsylvania and New York can turn apartments into dirty trash; but when the water is cleared, the fishing can be excellent, as you can tell some of the hypotons here, on our website, about the fish caught in the bay. As soon as striptease finishes its spawning area in the upper bay, most of them follow deep channels to migrate north along the coast, and they are aimed at anglers troll deep with multi-line umbrella installations on heavy gear. A little further south, the field of Chrisfield offers the same fishing, and some of the waterfalls around the island of Jans and Fox Island offer a chance to take fraudsters to artificial abilities in shallow water.

Considered to be bottom fish, these tough fighters feed in shallow water, like big perch. By early June, in many areas from Chrisfield Square to the mouth of the bay, it will be possible to find a saddle, and, starting on Memorial Day, the spotted saddle has become the most popular species for many Virginia fishermen. These fish are huge, but the cuts and canals of Lynnhaven Bay, right under the tunnel of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, can be a good bet. Tautog is also available if the water stays cool. One of the most popular places is the sunken World War II Concrete Freedom Ships, which forms a breakwater near Camping Captopak near Cape Charles on the east coast of Virginia. Any spot that is produced during the fall will also contain fish in the summer, but if there is one summer pattern to remember that it must fish during the cooler in the morning and evening. For some reason, by summer, “underwater vegetation is returning to popular Susquehanna apartments.

It has been almost 30 years, largely due to the efforts of the state to control herbs, over the past two years there has been a terrible revival. By July, you can practically walk on this subject, and it is difficult for him to work on a boat in the area. Because of the grass, the water is clear and full of baitfish, strippers and bass player. Fishing open pockets is the key to success here. In recent years, the number of hormones has increased, and they have been widely distributed from early June to August around the lower structure.

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (CBBT) is a 17 mile long fish structure. The longest bridge tunnel in the world is the most productive artificial structure in the bay. Rocky riparts form the islands that support the bridge, and the bridges of the piles keep the fish almost year round. In all but the coldest weather, the striped bass is here, here, on large forks directly against the rocky coastlines of the island’s man-made piers. From spring to autumn, cast to the right of the cliff almost always leads to a strip. From November to late December (and sometimes later), larger strippers go into deep holes for the winter. Then you can catch a giant fish if you can cope with the cold, windy weather. Where the bridge is closest to the water, the striped bass lines up in the shadow line, waiting for the baitfish to be covered in range. If you find yourself in the shade and catch a fish, you can see how the fish takes your bait.

Bay in danger

Commercial overfishing has harmed many Chesapeake marine species. The soft shell of the shell disappeared, oysters fell to about one percent of the historical populations, and the blue crabs disappear. Contamination is a problem. More than 150 sewage treatment plants are cleaned directly in the bay. The Susquehanna River has a large amount of inappropriate sewage along its 600 million course through New York and Pennsylvania, eventually reaching the bay.

The poultry farm on the Delmar peninsula is the largest poultry farm in America, and it adds massive pollution from waste of chicken meat to Chesapeake waters. In addition, the poultry farm depends on alndaden for the production of food pellets for chickens, and menhaden is the only remaining filter-feeder notes in Chesapeake. In the early 1900s, it is estimated that the total amount of Chesapeake water is completely filtered after eight hours by source filters, mainly oysters and mengadenes. Today, the same level of filtration takes more than one year.

Since the oysters are almost extinct, the only filter feeders are menhaden, but a relatively small amount of manhole each year passes by Riddwil, Va., Because one company working with several large menagadnymi trawlers works with the aircraft controller, almost 65 percent of all stocks in the Atlantic Ocean. It does two things. First, menhaden are strictly filter feeders. They swim in school schools, consuming a huge amount of plankton along with all types of detritus. You cannot live without a liver, which pretty much tells you what will happen to the Chesapeake Island if menadena slaughter continues. Menhaden are also the staple fish for striped bass. By reducing the available mendadenas, the strippers turned into other food sources, in particular, from silver and anchovy coves, which lacked oil and almondin protein. As a result, we now see more skinny strippers who are starving slowly.

Gamefish status for strips

Many fishermen of the Atlantic coast believe that nothing more than the status of fishing will not provide recreational fishing. Stripers Forever, a non-profit organization, seeks to eliminate commercial fishing for strippers through a federal bill (HR 1286) submitted by a congressman in New Jersey. The bill aims to stretch gameplay status in an expanded economic zone, waters more than 3 miles from the coast and influence the closure of time and space for commercial fishing methods, such as gillnets during the migration of the striped canvas. Stripers Forever is really trying to help the Gulf, and if you want more information about them, visit http://www.stripersforever.com

The Chesapeake Bay is our home water, and although we mostly fish and shallow bass, we all try to do our best to save all kinds of marine life in the bay by any means necessary. This means that we participate, so we can all enjoy what the bay has to offer for the Century.
