Choose the right bikini for summer

In 1946, Louis Reard, engineer, and, of course, a Frenchman! - fashionable two piece swimsuit from 30 inches of fabric. The counter-rival in the design of a bikini, Jacques Helm, was actually the first to create a cult two-piece swimsuit of the 20th century. Helmet called its design "atom" a nod to the smallest particle in the world known at the time. A marketing genius, Rirdd presented his meager two-component design five days after the United States launched atomic tests in the Bikini Atoll and called it “bikini” to suggest that it had the same explosive impact on society as the atomic bomb.

A bikini is a two-piece swimsuit for women that covers the chest and groin areas. It was considered risky when it first appeared in 1946, but the two-part design was really a return to very ancient times. Wikipedia quotes the earliest form of bikini, appearing in the era of chalcolith (3500 BC to 1700). Bikinis appear in ancient Roman mosaics and paintings, suggesting that they are popular as swimming suits among Roman women. Archaeologists have discovered Minoan wall paintings (around 1600 BC), showing a two-piece design that is very similar to a modern bikini, and women wearing bikinis appear on ancient Greek urns, ancient Sicilian mosaics and statues from Pompeii.

Bikinis were adopted as the main style of swimwear on the French Riviera long before they were embroidered by the public in the United States. Bikini was introduced to the United States in 1947, but its scandalous status remained in force in the 1950s. Many American cities have even passed laws prohibiting wearing a bikini in public. In 1957, the magazine “Modern Girl” declared: “It is strictly necessary to waste words on the so-called bikini, because it is impossible to imagine that any girl with tactics and decency would ever wear such a thing.” American women did not actually jump on the bikini side until the end of the 1960s with the start of the so-called sexual revolution. Since then, bikini and its stylish variations have become the most popular style of swimsuit in the United States.

Because there are so many variations in a bikini design, it helps to familiarize yourself with the styles available before purchasing. Keep in mind that your body shape and level of self-confidence will also have an impact on the style that you really choose.
