I found the perfect place for camping near Helen Ha. This is called Sleepy Hollow. They could not come up with a better name. The name corresponds to the mood and, by all means, the environment.
I remember growing up as a child, resting on my best friend, aunt in rural southern Georgia. A sleepy hollow tent greeted me back to these very pleasant memories. The campground is located on a variety of huge open fields with a magnificent view of the mountains surrounding the past areas. This campsite has so much open green space that it literally seems that they have a captured farm for themselves.
Next to the old robbery is the old destroyed agricultural equipment, as well as the old fencing that once separated the past areas, and the beautiful little bubbling mountain stream that runs through the campsite. Deep forests with tall trees, which give the feeling that at any moment you can jump out of the line of trees and slip through open fields around pastures. The opportunity to observe the wildlife here is excellent; In fact, I saw a whole crowd of turkey running across the field.
There are primitive places for tents without water and electricity, and also tent places with water and electricity. There are also RV sites with adequate utilities. There are two fairly clean bathhouses, a decently sized picnic pavilion and a playground for children, as well as all open spaces for which you can ask for outdoor sports, such as baseball or football.
If you catch a fisherman, you will want to visit this campsite only for a huge private lake, which is under water, and to pat a huge big bass. Most - every time I ever fished; I have never seen more than two other people who fish at a time. If you sit in a nice quiet mountain lake until the morning with a lantern, and fishing for catfish captures your imagination, then this place is suitable for counting. You can sit here as long as possible and fish until your hearts are happy.
The old people who own and operate this small private campsite are true to the terrestrial inhabitants of the Southern country and the type that you can sit in the campsite and just talk for hours.
The Sleepy Hollow Campground is also just minutes from the beautiful trout fishing in Helen Ha. And just a few miles from the road are two of the best places for breakfast that a camper could offer, one of them - Aint B & the other - a buffet breakfast in a cottage in Unicoi State Park.
I have to say that I really enjoyed staying at this campsite, at about 10:00 pm, all I could do here were crickets, frogs and the ripples of a mountain stream going through my tent. The environment brought me back to a happier time, and all the comforts were modern enough for comfort, but strong enough to make me feel like a real desert experience.
