The Delwar Water Breakthrough Bridge is so named for the obvious reason that it bridges the gap between Hardwick Township, Jersey and the Delaware intake, Pennsylvania. In 1952, it was built by a commission on bridges of the Delaware River, more than 2,600 feet long (751 m). Officially opened for use on December 16, 1953, the bridge became the main way for passengers who are already on the I-80 expressway, or if they need a quick way to cross the river and continue their journey.

6,421 acres of Worthington State Forest bordered by the New Jersey Bridge; many of whom visit the forest exit from the bridge and pave the way to one of the many scenic campgrounds. The park also offers trekking, camping (including special organized trekking in a more primitive area), canoeing and kayaking on the Delaware itself. Regular passengers can get a 40% discount if they make 20 or more trips within 35 days. As in some other states, the use of an automatic pass fixed on the windshield allows traffic to continue to flow to eliminate the need to stop at the stand.
