They say that Rondo Bay is Ontario, and I can no longer agree! This is a paradise for anglers! Located on the north shore of Lake Erie between Lymington and Port Glasgow, Ontario, both on the shore and on the shore, fishing is at its best. Walleye, Rainbow Trout and small-sized Smallmouth Bass sizes can be made to Eriu on the main lake. The sheltered bay of Rondeau gives us approximately eleven square miles of crawled paradise, which is the beautiful territory of Largmut Bass. The depth ranges from three to eight feet on average, which makes bass and fishing excellent in the bay!
My attention was that certain weekends were at Largemouth Bass. I was amazed at the growth of weeds in Rondeaw Bay. Seriously, wherever I looked, there were pockets on the pockets of the Largmaut potential. Clean water was obvious, for the most part, so a certain tactic was needed for success, as I learned. Do not forget your fluorocarbon line! Murky area was obvious too, but still produced for me with normal close proxification of pitching.
Some currents change during the season, and some more than others. The Gulf of Rondo, in my opinion, often changed because of the winds. In the north central region there is a plot littered with surface dull weeds. The wind can change its shape here and there, but I bet it will stay there. This special variety, covered with weeds, makes it excellent for riding baits for water. Frogs, rats, buzzes, you name it, and I know that Largmut could have in this area. Let me tell you, it was painful to watch all the surface activity, knowing that my top lures on the water are sitting on my desk in my office at home! In fact, the buzzing bait is a favorite of local anglers. My family parked our motor home on the Summer Square Marina and Campground, located on the east bank of the Rondeou River. We quickly noticed that we were approaching in the evening; All lured bait and bait to bait until dark. Many of them were successful and proud to have released the bass to fight another day. It was nice to see anglers who care about freeing what they caught.
During the short stay of my family, my son Lorenzo and I were able to get out and try some excellent bass fishing. Wind was a factor for us, because this bay is definitely a fishing bay. Strong winds interfered with our visibility very much from time to time. When the good edges of deep weeds were discovered, marking them on GPS helped us get closer to them. Thank God for GPS, because due to repeated falsification the wind pushes us away from the target and many times, from the target!
Dunking pockets with zipper 9/16 ounce series. A jig with a trailer Yum Craw Chunk created a good 5-liter Largmut right off the bat. I put it in a living well for photos back to the motor house, which is conveniently located on the lagoon in the camp. Needless to say, Bass was released alive and well back where it was saved. I know it sounds crazy, but whenever I catch a good bass and forget my camera, I will take pictures in the cottage or camp and go back to the place where I covered it and release Bass in its original setting. I think this is important because the bass is not disoriented and calm, because it knows its surroundings.
Weeds in the clear water of Rondo were caught with the help of Senkos, equipped with Ukey and Texas. My son was catching Texas, and I was catching Walker. Distance was key, and Spider Wires Invisi-Braid helped in clear conditions. We were both successful many times, producing Largemouth from 2 to 3 pounds in series, while the wind, once again, made it difficult to stay on a certain structure.
This access to Rondo Bay was difficult with cold fronts, wind and water temperatures ranging from 63 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the cool water for the Largemouth Bass, so a slow decline in our presentation really helped. We still managed to succeed and could not help but wonder what would be the result if the temperature and conditions were perfect! There was so much bass cover, but we were looking for a difference in the weeds, and it took time to find. When the right cap was found, we were rewarded for our efforts. Lines of weed lines were key!
Largemouth, Smallmouth, Walleye, fish, what else can ask the angler in the water with easy access. The best part is that they can all be made in good sizes!
Our weekend at the Summer Place Marina Hotel and Campground was quiet and peaceful. People have been extremely helpful in ensuring that the bay of our Gulf of Rondo is unforgettable. The fish was abundant, and so was the hospitality. Make Rondeau Bay your next fishing spot and you will leave a smile after you also discovered the secret secret of Ontario!
