Many complain that liquid minoxidil drains into the face when they apply it; however, with good technique, this should not be a problem. Try these different methods and see which one is best for you.
Appliances # 1: Dropper and Dab
When using liquid, apply tiny drops of liquid on the head area with one hand and rub them when you go with the other. It is easiest to start in areas where there is still some hair, as the hair will help stop Minoxidil from running around the world. Remember to cover the whole area with Minoxidil. Only after you cover the areas close to the hair, use the remaining liquid in areas that are completely bald. Spread Minoxidil on your scalp evenly with your hand, with which you do not hold the applicator, or Minoxidil will drip into your face or other places of inconvenience. When finished, wash your hands immediately and gently wipe away any minoxidil that may be excessive on the forehead.
Technique # 2: Run and Rub
For this method, identify two points in your bald spot that are farther apart. For example, if I fly my crown, I’m going to start from the point closest to the top and in the center of my head. At this point, put minoxidil drip. With the index finger, make a barrier at the bottom of the balding area. Now tilt your head forward, or whatever you need, to have Minoxidil standing on your head, and when you are ready, tilt your head so that Minoxidil runs along your scalp over a bald spot or thinning. When fluid flows, catch it with your index finger. You only want to run a little Minoxidil at a time, so release enough so your finger can catch it without running all over the place. As soon as you rub it, you can continue to do this for the rest of the balding and anywhere on your scalp that you want to treat.
Technique number 3: Bandage
This method is performed as it seems. You wear either a headband or bandanna when you use Minoxidil to create a barrier that Minoxidil cannot pass. Thus, you can hold the applicator with one hand and rub the liquid into the other without worrying that Minoxidil works absolutely everywhere. This is probably the most difficult way to do this, but also the most effective. You will also probably want to wash your headband often to get rid of minoxidil, which it soaks up.
