Ball bearings

Straight roller

Straight roller bearings are also known as cylindrical bearings. They get their name properly because they work in cylindrical tracks. They have a high radial load and can operate at very high speeds with minimal friction. Since the load is distributed over a larger area, you can handle a large load. Typically, the length of the roller is not much larger than the diameter to minimize the skew. Straight roller bearings are made for a free float on an axis and have flanges that guide them on both sides, which allows them to expand due to thermal conditions.

Taper roller

When it comes to a tapered roller bearing, the rollers and rings have a taper. They appear in the form of cones, truncated to support both radial and axial loads. The average cone is on average from 10 to 15 degrees, but for a greater shock load 30 degrees can be used.

Needle roller

Needle roller bearings are long cylindrical parts with small diameters. They are used in cases where space is limited radially. The ratio between length and diameter is from 1 to 10 and 1-2.5. Because they are so small, they carry precision and create a lot of friction. Slower speeds are required here.

Spherical roller

Spherical roller bearings consist of cylindrical rollers arranged in two rows. One works on the inner diameter of the outer ring, and the other on the inner ring. These bearings have a high load capacity and are mounted in two housings inside the bearing housing, facing each other for better support.

Thrust bearings

Finally, thrust bearings are designed to handle high loads. You can find thrust bearings in the housing or rotating shafts for the gearbox, as well as gears.
